Abortion law in Northern Ireland

#1 Postby Alan H » June 7th, 2018, 10:48 am

There are a lot of wrong and conflicting reports on today's Supreme Court ruling. It seems that the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission didn't have the legal standing to bring the case but that the Court ruled that NI abortion law was incompatible with human rights law. This means that Theresa May now has to act to sort out the mess. This could well have serious implications for her relationship with her bosom buddies in the DUP.

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?
