Latest post of the previous page:

I had a good evening at my fiend's last night, a nice wine, excellent pepperoni pizza and Al Pacino's "The Merchant of Venice (recommended)

I am feeling virtuous because I have finally got round to hoovering the stairs*

I have finally finished installing the new drying lines in the bathroom.*

(* These are starred because I bought a new, super powerful, hand held vacuum cleaner for doing the stairs, the car and DIY jobs. After drilling the holes for the drying line fittings I needed to hoover up the brick dust - out came the new toy. I held it up and moved towards the pile of powder. Inadvertently I got the nozzle of the cleaner within about 2 inches of the loo roll. The roll had about a quarter of an inch thickness of paper still on it - "had" being the correct tense. Before I could hit the "off" button the new toy had ingested all the paper off the roll!)

You've got your very own fiend?

I'm jealous.

Have you taken Malaria pills Lifey? I just ask because I got refused at the Blood Donors a couple of weeks ago. Apparently where I was staying (near Antalya) is a low-risk malarial area. I didn't realise this and now they don't want my stinky blood for at least a year!

I caught it and they didn't want mine for ever - that was in 1968. They still took it for something else, but not for the blood!
Then they turned me away altogether about 10 years ago - so my three things to be happy about are -

1) I do not give blood but feel OK about it except I miss the tea and biscuit.
2) I do not need anybody else's at the moment.
3) I am happy that I am angry about things that happen in the world and not complacent.

I have just enjoyed a bacon sarni with tomato sauce!

Having given blood for over 35 years I was well pissed off when after being given a transfusion they now won't ever take my blood. If only i could have put 6 pints aside for myself they'd still take it...
so, ok things I'm quite happy about:

Altruistic and generous folk donated the 6 pints that kept me alive. Thank you

You don't need to be intact to leave your body to medical schools.

I don't have to get up tomorrow :)

Both Mary and myself got the gold lapel pins for donating, but it got so difficult to donate (have you had a paracetamol in the last (week?) We gave up.
There is no blood transfusion service at all here in Shetland :puzzled:

Can you please explain what you mean by "You don't need to be intact" Sounds fascinating, like will they accept bits of suicide bombers?

I'll bet you do though.

My IBS has settled down (your picture reminded me!)

I got a lot of my fruit and veg picked today

My initial training with my wee dog went better than expected today (I'm trying to get him to trot calmly by my side when I cycle. Up untill now the excitement engendered by the mere sight of my bike drove him into a frenzy of barking and running in circles around me. Very dangerous!)

gereal, I had IBS for years - then I switched to soya "milk" on my cereals and changed the cereals to a home made oats/walnuts/seeds/sultanas mix and drinking only black coffee or green tea. Cured it.

Cheese and high fibre wheat bread don't seem to give me a problem.

Sorry about the outage this morning, but a good chance to remind everyone of the Think Humanism status page at http://sites.google.com/site/thinkhumanismstatus/. I try to keep this up to date when there is a problem, so if you are having access problems have a look there.

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

I had thought that they would only take you if you had no organs removed, but I was wrong. So unless I die of aggressive cancer or something wildly infectious that's where by bod will be off to.
I'm quite happy about that :D

My tatties have pink flowers - an unexpected bonus.
