meteor stuff may well have been there but we had clouds, and the usual light pollution as well as a nearby non-stop burglar alarm

Despite our best efforts, as dusk descended, so did the clouds, so we didn't see a diddly-squat :boohoo:

I'm still in Cyprus but there have been endless problems with the house this summer and I've spent more time stuck there supervising various workmen than I have on the beach.

We seem to have lost it again with the numbers!
Maria posted 997,367, which would appear to be correct, then Ninny posted 997,371 :puzzled:
Then Ninny posted again 997,365 :puzzled: :puzzled:
Then gatreal posted 997,364, which was quite correct (following on from Ninny)
But then in comes Zoe; and takes us back to 997,366.
I'm lost,
Now I know there are at least two folk here who profess to be good with numbers, any chance one of you could sort this out?

I'm going to say 997,365, No idea if it's the right number, just following Zoe

997364 the problem is you have to hold the last number in your head while you go to the submit reply thingy by which time the numbers could be in any order and have you remembered to subtract one or is it add one on and anyway whose daft idea was this in the first place

Couple of tips at the end (not that I am an expert)

Anyway -
Zoe should have been 997,363
Alan C would then have put 997,362
and Ninny's last one would have been 997,361

so mine is now 997,360

Tips (and remember that if you are replying to a message that is a bit before the last one you need to check you are not following the earlier number, if you see what I mean!)

1) use pencil and paper to note the number (bit old fashioned I know)
2) copy/paste the previous number -remember to subtract one digit
3) when in 'reply' mode scroll down to see the last number

Am I boring or what?

Just thought I'd pop in to this thread. Could someone let me know when it starts to get exciting? You know, when we're down to about 42 or so? Thanks.

Would that be Greek for Happy Saint's Day by any chance?

Happy Saint's Day anyway, Maria!

I'd bake you a cake, Maria, but you wouldn't like it. I'm afraid I'm the world's worst cook, especially embarassing since my mother and both of my sisters are fantastic cooks. I guess I inherited my dad's genes on that one!

Hey Maria, if I'd known, I would have got you a cake last weekend and we would all have sung Happy Saint's Day to you... and you could have blown out candles or something. :)
