God help us if there isn't - or at least if there isn't some kind of coalition that can defeat the Tories that got us into this mess.Nick wrote:There isn't one.

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

So far, they can't even form a coalition of Labour MP's.

Re: The future of the Labour Party (if any)
So lets see where we have got to now. Corbyn can't raise a Shadow Cabinet. But refuses to resign. And would fail a vote of "No Confidence" in the Commons.
So Ms Eagle challenges. Either Corbyn stands, in which case he wins and half the PLP resign the whip, or he's barred from standing by not getting enough nominations, and goes to law. If he wins, the PLP is finished. If he loses, Ms Eagle and many others are deselected by the constituencies, and Labour is crushed at the next election.
Have I missed anything....? Do we need the opinion of 1000 barristers....?
As I was saying, what future?

I have sent a text to David Milliband over in the States. All will be sorted when he gets back to these shores.

They're dropping nearly as fast as Tory Party leader candidates...Nick wrote:The Eagle has (Crash-) Landed.

Any sign of a Labour future yet....?
Nope.
Nope.
Re: The future of the Labour Party (if any)
agreed, but Corbyn just might become PM in this Parliament if the Tories split over Brexit and Terri May loses her touch. After that, well...Nick wrote:Any sign of a Labour future yet....?

And now, it appears, Momentum is splitting in two......

Failing a vote of 'No Confidence' would surely be better that passing one !

Re: The future of the Labour Party (if any)
Labour's share of the vote in Sleaford drops around 40%, beaten by both UKIP and the Lib Dems.
However, the news of this is event in the Graun is listed at number 1 in the "most popular" sidebar

Re: The future of the Labour Party (if any)
Apparently, in Sleaford, their votes were less than registered Labour party members!
Re: The future of the Labour Party (if any)
And in other news, Comrade Corbyn is advocating introducing maximum wages!
Even Richard Murphy thinks that's crackers!
The Labour Party is in deep do-do.

And now Tristram Hunt jumps ship....
Re: The future of the Labour Party (if any)
Now 19% behind. If an election were held today, that would be an overall Tory majority of what.... about 120?
