Reverse Advent Calendar

On the grounds that, in the UK, Xmas is more of a social than a religious festival, this is what we have done for the last few years:

Every day during advent, we put an item of non-perishable food into a box, a mixture of staples and festive "luxuries". Just before Xmas, this goes to the local Trussell Trust food bank so that, we hope, some families will have a slightly better Xmas than they would otherwise have had.

Delighted to discover that they have begun to "formalise" it a bit this year. See ... -calendar/
