The days are getting longer... Well, one day is. Next Tuesday, to be precise.

A leap second will be added to time next week but watch out - chaos may ensue

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Wow! Glad you told us that. I would have been so worried if you had not said anything.
Probably put it down to old age. :D

Here it is at last; the long awaited December Solstice. Now we can cheer up and look forward to a bit more light and bit less dark.
Feel a bit happier perhaps and nothing to do with all those rubbish festivities.

A new solar cycle has begun, day-light will increase by the day so will the happiness of my friends, ....at least, that is what I hope.

I worry that winter hasn't even started yet, we're getting the gales and the rain but apart from a few days of 1°/2°C we're getting morning temperatures of 10 to 13°C.
It's fucking with the flora and fauna

The Solstice is past, though well celebrated.

Let's hope 2016 is a good year. Particular thoughts go to friends in Ballater who have been affected by flooding, and people everywhere affected by both natural disaster and man made war and famine. Let us strive for a better world!

Happy New Year!

We are all safe, not one fatality which I'm astounded by having escaped just in time through raging flood water. 300 or so folk homeless, stats being collected. Our community spirit is tremendous and we have love, support and practical assistance coming from far and wide.

Glad to hear no serious casualties, well, discounting damage to property - which is mostly replacable. And glad you are getting the right kind of help.

Unbelievable, I am not able to identity this place where, I'm sure, Fia recently showed me around.

It's taken from the main street in Ballater, Elio. Fia's house is at the far end. I was there for a flying visit on Monday. Can't believe it was all under water by Wednesday.

Here's wishing everyone a very happy June solstice and the day that allegedly the northern summer begins. I guess the days also start getting a little longer and the nights a bit longer. All the same to me really!

Happy Summer Solstice to you all. Less rain and and more sun would be appreciated on the Alpine region.
