Nice one Nick, there's something to be said for the old adage"only the good die young" think Douglass Adams and mother Theresa.

Did you read the comments from the outraged fundie? he fired off these 3 without even waiting for a reply :laughter:

Again and again this is not about god. You can't answer or prove this "In the beginning was nature and nature always is and always will be"? JUST PROVE IT answer the question without asking a question-dammit.

Nice link Al-C, pity the audience appeared to be made up of fans / rationalists though. Hitchens is more fun when there are some fundies around!

You may find the following interesting : the unedited footage of Richard Dawkins's interview with the theologian Alister McGrath -- which didn't make the final cut in Dawkins's television series "The Root of All Evil" -- is now available here. I notice that some commentators already detect some skullduggery in the decision to exclude any of this interview from the series -- which was, after all, an exploration of the rational and moral basis of religion. I tend more to the view that the programmes were inevitably time-limited and that this material was simply less compelling, in televisual terms, than other interviews.

Hi Lucretius, and thanks for the link. I don't know why an Englishman has to be quiet for an Irishman....? Does a black man have to be quiet for a white man...? And BTW, if Hitchens had 90-odd pages without a citation, the bible has over 31000 verses without a single citation. The difference is, that Hitchens can be asked for, and provide, citations. The bible..? Er... no.

Here is a fine example of what religion can do to an ill-prepared mind and just how inimical it can be to good mental health. This woman is probably borderline certifiable, but I'm not qualified to make a clinical diagnosis. Maybe she would be crazy even without religion but religion is clearly fertile ground for crazies. My heart goes out to the young people in her family. They will probably either be terribly messed up by their mother's delusional state or quickly learn that atheism is the sane way to go. Let's hope!

My apologies if this has previously been posted here, and old news.

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating staying in EU.

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of staying in the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens will be caused by leaving EU?
3. Should the supreme court ruling on British subjects be based in UK?
