Interview between YouTube atheist Thunderf00t and Richard Dawkins, where they discuss the religion meme and its origins. This is the first part, the other three parts are on the right hand side. If you're not a youtuber and aren't familiar with Thunderf00t, his videos are well worth a look (particularly his epic series, Why do people laugh at creationists,) as is QualiaSoup (his videos are on the right hand side).

Not to toot my own horn, but I put together this video of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" a couple years ago. I know, its been done a billion  times before. Used Sigur Ros' "Untitled 3" for the soundtrack. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNOM7WOGGUw It was difficult picking out the images for it.

I did another version of "Pale Blue Dot" for the Sagan Appreciation Society here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJE_Ld-UyCk Its picked up a bit of recognition on YouTube and was played at a Green Expo up in NY state (I stuck with the Brian Eno soundtrack for this one) For this one, I put a bit more of environment emphasis in it (it is present in the first version, but not as much).

One of these days I'll get round to combining elements of both into one!

This is one of the most beautiful speeches ever given... I remember watching Cosmos when I was a kid...

Me too. And I wouldn't know how to begin to go about putting it together, either.

I've just posted a more jocular video with a similar message in the fun science video thread. Do take a look :D

The Golden Crocoduck winner for last year was Ray Comfort. I particularly like 5:47 when Ray goes through his usual spiel and gets to the part where he asks a member of the public if they've ever lied, then asks them what you call someone who tells lies. The member of the public answers quick as a flash "Ray Comfort".

Here's a music video I put together last year of my cover of Joy Division's "Atmosphere" with a series of images by Banksy.

Its partly meant to be a tribute to Ian Curtis and partly an inpirational call to action. Even though Joy Division never did any explicitly "political" songs, it made sense to combine it with Banksy's art, thus adding somewhat a different take on the meaning of the song:

New 5-part vid out by Captain Disillusion on TAM7 and how Derren Brown did his lottery prediction. He can be quite annoying (although the vids are excellently made) so if you just want to know how he did it, I'd recommend skipping to the last part.

Michael Shermer on The pattern behind self-deception. Very good 20 minute video from the TED talks, the last couple of minutes are priceless.

A good talk by James Randi, (he does homeopathy to death, again) but lots of other good stuff. Parts 2 to 7 are the box's at the bottom of the screen. Enjoy.

I have every sympathy for Christopher in his condition. If he reads this I'll apologise if it offends him, but it was said in solidarity with him, not as a put down. Long live The Hitch.

Is it just me, or has he had a new lease of life recently? Try this video:
