Latest post of the previous page:

Further to the above, last Sunday's edition included a phone-in from the one and only Ray Comfort, AKA Banana Man. :laughter: You can find it here. Matt Dellahunty (the principal host) is awesome in his command of the marshalling of arguments.

Enjoy!

It's a synthesized voice (i.e. computer-processed); I wonder why he/she wants to do it :puzzled:

I enjoyed this piece on "Gruen Transfer" (in Australia) a couple of weeks ago. The show challenges advertising companies to sell the unsellable. Last week it was "ban religion".
I'm not anti-religion at all... I think working with religions is critical to progress actually... but I still enjoyed it.

Welcome GregA.
I'm very anti organised religion, can you explain why you think"working with religions is critical to progress"?
"Religious" People in the main are (in my opinion) Mentally ill, I certainly wouldn't want to work with them.

I can't imagine anything worse than having to watch advertisers try to sell us even more stuff we don't need (although their previous tasks were certainly different as well!), but that was interesting!

Which did you prefer?

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Me too, I would like GregA to elaborate on why religion has something to do with progress.

Sorry Marian but you've got it the wrong way round, I think religiosity is a separate form of mental illness but one that hasn't yet been classified. :)

Actually, I did understand correctly and I'm just saying that if you classify this as mental illness, it's shedding a bad light on those who truly do have mental health problems. I say this because religious fanaticism is a choice. Sure it might be messed up thinking lots of us have that problem. Lol. :) But messed up thinking doesn't necessarily make a mental illness even though messed up thoughts are definitely part of the problem. Mental illness is not a choice. This is my opinion and I can see why you'd want to put those two things together. Your thoughts?

I've just come across this clip of Bertrand Russell.

His "Why I Am Not A Christian" was the first atheist work I ever read. I think this clip also shows there is not a lot "new" about the "new atheists". I'm trying to think of a suitable subriquet for him..... The First Horseman, perhaps.....

Utter malarkey. Impossible to follow. How dare he assume that underlying all questions is the desire to be told you are not appart from god. This is a great example of B**S*** baffles brains.
