There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

I really don't know any on these comedians from the other side of the Atlantic.
Sit coms I love are:
The Green Wing (I can't watch it and drink at the same time as I would choke. It's actually a pretty accurate portrayal of the politics in a large hospital)
The IT crowd. The episode about the internet was one of the funniest things I've seen.
Comedians:
Tim Minchin (of course!)
Russell Brand ( what can I say? I'm shallow)
Eddie Izzard (don't think anyone has mentioned him yet)
i'm not too fond of Billy Connelly either. He's rather vulgar and swears all the fucking time.

I like this gag by Stewart Lee.
I have also really enjoyed this stand up by Charlie Chuck. I think there's a lot of cleverness behind his nonsense. I also like his microphone technique.

Very good choices, jj.
Dara is defintely my favourite stand-up at the moment. I don't think I know Tim Vine but I think I like all the others on your list. Last year it was Jimmy Carr but I was disappointed with his latest tour.

I don't get Frankie Boyle at all. What is it about him you find funny?

Forgot to mention Jack Dee, Reginald D Hunter. Prob loads more.
For UNfunny, my votes go to Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan, with the latter way out in front in the "not a flicker" stakes.
As a lad, at the "movies" I was always totally unmoved by Jerry Lewis, Danny Kaye, Abbot and Costello. But was totally creased by Laurel and Hardy, or the Marx brothers.

There's no accounting for humour, is there? I have yet to find anything remotely funny about Reeves and Mortimer or Alan Carr
And I haven't seen any of the programmes you mentioned, Amy
Maybe it's because I'm just an old fart.

Anyone else off to see Dara Ó Briain, Tim Minchin, Marcus Brigstocke, Robin Ince, Ed Byrne and Shappi Khorsandi at the Big Libel Gig on 14 March? Front row seats!

Unfortunatly, living so far from London precludes attending one off gigs like these. It's just too difficult to make all the arrangements given the short space of time between the gig being announced and it selling out. Have a great time anyway, Alan!
amywineglass, you mentioned "Nighty Night" which I had completely forgotten about. It was bizzarre and surreal and very very wickedly funny!

has anyone mentioned "Curb Your Enthusiasm" yet?
superb, and surely the inspiration for Jack Dee's equally brilliant "Lead Balloon"?
incidentally, and sorry for sidetracking a bit, but how about Jack Dee to replace Brucie when he finally (pleeeeez) retires from Strictly?

The success of Strictly is completely beyond me.
