The Speakeasy
It has long been a source of grief to me that this board has not got a proper traditional spit-and-sawdust boozer, where bods can can have a damned good rant, out of the way of traffic. This defect, however, can now be supplied. I have kitted out a property that as been in the family since thirteen oatcake.
So, what's your tipple?

I'm still hungover from last night but I'll have half a glass of scrumpy to wash down my lunch, thanks.
As for ranting, seen today's Daily Fail? https://twitter.com/pointlesslettrs/sta ... 56/photo/1

Now, as this is the opening night, the first drinks are on the house. What'll it be?

A pint of your best for me please.

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Now, I have some announcements to make. First, the premises: this area, as you can see, is a traditional spit-and-sawdust boozer. There are bench seats for parties who prefer their ranting cheek to cheek, and we have some battered old leather seating at low tables for the experienced topers, who know that it is best to put your drink where it doesn't have far to fall...
Through the archway, there are booths suitable for smallish groups of like-minded ranters, who may want to have a sing-song or go in for some communal self-medication.
Regulars are asked to take turns at staffing the bar. Failing that, there is an honesty box.
There is also a swear box, into which some joker has put a vulgar great brick of currency, with a note saying Tell us when that runs out.
That's the spirit!

Don't know what the hell I am doing here; gave up alcohol some years ago so I think I'll go home. Sorry to bother you!
