New Humanist Digital Subscriptions

#1 Post by SimpleHarper » May 30th, 2014, 8:30 pm

Advice ... Don't.

They use a proprietary app that basically doesn't work. It always crashes on my Android tablet. Reviews in the Play Store say that even if you can get it to work it suffers from the same problem as ...

The Web based versions of the magazine are unreadable because they're basically scanned JPEGs, so when you try and zoom in, they just go jaggy and blury, and don't reflow at all

And , the worst part is , you can't keep the magazines. Once your subscription ends, all access to magazines is lost.

Their online 'subscription' is magazine rental. Poor, low quality magazine rental at that.

I'm so annoyed. I doubt I'll be able to get a refund, but I have asked.

Was wanting the digital sub so I didn't have to get the print publications delivered at home. But it's not going to work out.

Why they couldn't have delivered with Google books, or Zinio I have no idea.
