There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

You know two actually - hundo = dog, viro = man!

Esperanto is very easy - but I'm just a dabbler.

Yes, but having learned, who do you speak to?

I went to night school for 2 years to study Dutch a few years ago. At the end of it I could speak and understand enough to watch Dutch TV (not THOSE channels!!) and understand the gist of news items (The Brear shipping disaster was all over the news and the salvage team were Dutch, so it was on TV pretty well every day for a time) with either Dutch or Africaans speakers (from apartheid SA. I could understand what crowds were chanting and what the banners said, too!)

Now, I can't remember any at all. WTF speaks Dutch?
The Dutch rarely speak Dutch FFS!

If you learned it all again, would it be double Dutch?

Maria, we had a dutch student staying for a while and it seemed like a grand idea at the time, however, looking back he did seem overly prone to giggling when I tried to converse in dutch with him.

I also find cultural differences between what appears on the surface to be very similar countries, fasinating!
I learned that the dutch are big on houseplants and are a very multicultural society. Big woop!

My user name? Check out the wikipedia page :D Specifically...
Specifically in reference to Hippolyta in "A Midsummer Night's Dream"...
In the Elizabethan age in which women are dependent on men, Hippolyta comes from a tribe of incredibly strong empowered women.

I do have an imagination but you'd never know it if you looked at my user name. :laughter: I use it because I can remember it. Of all the things I ever lost I miss my mind the most. Let that stand as the reason I gotta keep it simple. :D

I chose my username a long time ago. Back when I identified myself as a Buddhist (about four years ago). At the time, I was in the US Army and I've always had a great reverance for reality and the pursuit of truth. Thus, SoldierForTruth was "born". Though I'm now just a verteran, I still think of myself as a soldier, so I don't see any reason to change it.

I've seen some names on other forums that I've really liked - "the one in the yellow hat" has to be my favourite! "Fluffyporcupine" is another work of genius - but I don't have much imagination. I usually use my real name, but just fancied a change. I've met quite a lot of lorikeets at Paradise Park, home of the World Parrot Trust in Cornwall, and they're wonderful creatures. They produce huuuuge grins on people's faces:

Hi Alan,
I chose my name cause it's an anagram of my real name. It's probably really easy to work out and occasionally I worry I give too much away online but oh well, I like it.

er... I give up!

Well, there are 6 letters remaining, so they can be arranged in 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 720 different ways. Granted some of those arrangements will look very strange for an English name so could be discounted, but nevertheless I can't be arsed to try any more! :laughter:

Well, there are 6 letters remaining,
You missed out an R and an E, eight letters.
I'm no wiser though, in fact I think the third R makes it more difficult.
