Just because skyfrogs only exist in my head does not mean they are not real. No existential discrimination please!

There's more evidence for sky frogs than there is for any god.Just because skyfrogs only exist in my head
raining frogs
How stuff works
You probably haven't been driving around in a storm and had your car pelted with what you thought was hail but turned out to be frozen frogs. But other people have. While it's not the most common weather phenomenon in the world, it's not as rare as you might think. It happens all over the world, at least since the first century A.D. -- when the Roman naturalist known as Pliny the Elder described the event -- and as recently as 2005 in Serbia.

My user name is my own name. It shows a definite lack of imagination and a memory problem.

Its my real name. It is not the name I was given at birth. It is my real name anyway.

Hi DeeNeely and
Alan Henness
There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

mmm... Interesting.. I am Paul... (I hope)
I have used the username Bigsmak since about 1995 when I discovered the internets.... but now I am 34 and I need to stop hiding behind a username that some people have described as a little aggressive, although those that know me its really to do with how I hit a golf ball and my aggression rating on top trumps is about a 1/10....
So on joining this grown up forum where we will talk about grown up things (like Sky People, Magic and the likes... ) I though I would find a name for myself that a, wouldn't offend anyone, b, was a little about who I am, and most importantly, c, one I could remember for when I wanted to log in....
I thought to myself.. Who am I.... and thats what lead me to this... I like it....
So here I am, I am Paul
NB. I just googled my old username.. Apparently I play Chess, Eve online, talk about HMFC on their forums, Love money, and like fringe on the telly amongst other things... Scary

Welcome, Paul.
At first glance, your old username brought beefburgers to mind for some reason so I was surprised it would be perceived as aggressive. Then I said it out loud and understood.

That's close enough, Paul, to find a friendly reception here I think! Not sure if all the members are "practising Humanists" in the strictest sense as used by religionistas, or if some are nodding humanists, atheists, secularists or simply comfortable here.I am not sure I am a Humanist yet.. Whatever - enjoy!

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
I thought I'd already added to this thread, but maybe I'm confused, I haven't been on this forum for a while. My username, imaginaryfriend was inspired by this interview with Jimmy Carr on the Late Late Show in Ireland:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEu07RzZgbU
As a reinforcement of his atheistic beliefs, and following a meeting with Richard Dawkins, who was on the same show, he says something like "we all have imaginary friends, I've just grown out of mine" at 1:24-1:27 which inspired my username.

Lack of imagination again. My username is just a short version of my forename (Cameron).

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
Mine is a funky mash-up of my two given names - Mark and Bradley. I'd like to think if I became famous one day I would change my stage name to Brad Marx. Although thanks to Karl perhaps it's not quite as snazzy as it would have been in the time of Groucho.

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?
The first internet forum I joined was for adults with ADHD (like me) and I chose the name oooshiny! as a nod to my high distractibility and my penchant for shiny things (my avatar is a disco glitterball). That username earned me the nickname 'Shiny', which some friends still use in preference to my 'real' name. 'Shiny' then morphed into my current username, because it turns out lots of people think of themselves as 'Shiny', so I often had to add a digit to get past 'someone has already chosen this username' controls - but if you use an iPad, it's. PITA to have to flip from characters to digits (ok, it might just be me on that one) so I turned to spelling the whole thing out.
And in the end, deep down, I do think of myself as The Shiny One'.
