Yeah, Honda has only raised $25 million since 1984 for good causes, but I guess they're not as popular in the US as Harleys!

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Having semi-retired my BMW for a bit after my "off" the other week makes me realise...

that the 400cc Suzuki Burgman that I've had for the last year has been sadly under-rated by me.

Automatic CVT transmission (= faster in town cornering coz no gears to think about)

good weather protection

huge storage capacity - two dashboard cubby-holes, lockable glove box, underseat space for two full-face helmets (or my weekend shopping)

cruises happily at 70mph, will top out at about 90-95 mph

I'm getting about 70mpg consumption - and I don't hang about!

Hundovir becomes... serious scooter man!

Nice bit of kit Hundovir. I remember speaking to a bloke who had one he used to commute every day and he also spoke very highly of it.

It's a 2002 ST1300 Pan European (the one with ABS). I was missing the weather protection and comfort of my old K100 on longer runs, and saw this locally. So far I have found it even better than the K, which is some going. Hope to do some miles on it this year :D :D :D

I have to resusitate this thread for two reasons: Today, May 7th is International Female Ride Day http://www.motoress.com/IFRD_2010_wishes.asp. In light of that, I'd just like to say that I am the proud owner of a new-to-me motorcycle! My first one ever!!. I'm going to practice riding in a few minutes (not quite road ready yet but maybe today will inspire me to leave the parking lot...). I've got the camera handy so hopefully I'll be able to post some pics later. Oh yeah, it's a Kawasaki Eliminator 250.

Very nice

I have had a few Kwacks over the years - they are pretty bullet proof

I've got a couple of Harleys but don't know how to post pictures.
Bikes generally get much better mileage (kilometerage?) than 4-wheeled vehicles. I think they're an underrated transport mode, particularly in the US.

Been so wet and cold the last few days, I haven't had any bike time. Perhaps tomorrow. I'd have to do an awful lot of circles around the parking lot to get to 100miles! :laughter:

It's a 2007 Suzuki Boulevard C50SE (805cc). The changes I've made since the lower picture picture are that I've replaced the passenger seat and I've installed some chrome lowers that were absolutely required for travel in excess of 70 km/h due to buffeting. Oh, I've also removed the "C50" stickers from the side covers and a tiny "Suzuki" sticker from the rear fender that was quite out-of-place, but I've left the tank badges on. As time and money permit there are a myriad other changes I'd like to get around to.

I Purchased it about 6 weeks ago and have covered ~1200km on it... mind you've I've been using it to commute as well as taking a few joy-rides.

Lifelinking, That looks like a deluxe sport-touring bike you've got there... very nice!
