Reverse Advent Calendar

#1 Post by Tetenterre » December 1st, 2016, 3:31 pm

On the grounds that, in the UK, Xmas is more of a social than a religious festival, this is what we have done for the last few years:

Every day during advent, we put an item of non-perishable food into a box, a mixture of staples and festive "luxuries". Just before Xmas, this goes to the local Trussell Trust food bank so that, we hope, some families will have a slightly better Xmas than they would otherwise have had.

Delighted to discover that they have begun to "formalise" it a bit this year. See https://bournemouth.foodbank.org.uk/201 ... -calendar/

Sounds like a great idea!

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?
