Interview the person below you.

Latest post of the previous page:

Och, currently my pet peeve is being described by management as a girl: as in telling clients "the girls will visit 4 times a day" :supershock:
I'm hardly a girl at 5 years off my bus pass, I'm an experienced and qualified carer. It doesn't exactly engender trust in the service we provide by demeaning us.

But tomorrow doubtless my pet peeve will be something different. There's so much to be peevish about, sadly.

So do share yours too, you never know it may be cathartic...

I will just share yours pro tem, Fia - it is a bit sexist, as middle-aged or oldish men would not be referred to as "boys" in the same way

Do you have a favourite colour combination (say of two) and if so, what?

A nice bottle of red wine (not Australian, but New Zealand OK).

I like the idea of a formal 'Airing of Grievances', Ken H! But quite honestly I don't think I've got any worth mentioning!
What's the best thing you're planning to do next year?

Go to a festival for the first time in years :D

Great question Thundril, so let's see what delights others have planned for themselves...

I can't truthfully answer that without sounding shallow and trivial. Ach! I am shallow and trivial, so why try to hide the fact?

Going to see "David Bowie is" at the V&A

What was the best thing for you about 2012?

easy one - my daughter got an upper second class honours degree in music at Kingston University, and my wife and I helped in this achievement. (Obiter dictum - I don't think seeing Bowie is shallow or trivial)

Not very imaginative: what was the worst thing for you in 2012?

Realizing that I am becoming more isolated...need to work on that this coming year.

What did you observe in 2012 that renewed your confidence in humanity?

That is a very difficult question, Sel, and I am still working on it.

Any one else got an answer.

The worldwide response to the shooting of Malala Yousafzai and the universal condemnation of the same. Oh! and the discovery of The Big Bang Theory. That also renews my confidence in humanity.

same question....

This good forum. Last year some absolutely tremendous on and off board support has been given, often by and to folk who have never met in person. Many of us know if we were in trouble the good folk here would help, and tbh that is very comforting :)

What would you like to see happening this new year to renew confidence in humanity?

Removal of the death penalty across the world;

people engaging their critical faculties a wee bit more
removal of homeopathy from the NHS throughout the UK
the outing of "nutritionists" (scientists who study nutrition properly don't refer to themselves as such)

Oh! I could go on (but I won't)

Where would you like to be one year from now (metaphorically, or physically)?

Teaching in a bricks and mortar university rather than a distance learning one, or in a well paying job so that I can support my teenage daughter to a standard that she well and truly deserves.

What is your favourite classic novel (I leave you to interpret the term 'classic' as you wish)?
