Ban a vowel

Otherwise known as the Games Room, think of this as a subforum of the social club reserved just for sociable icebreaker games. Beware - they can be addictive!

love it :pointlaugh:

here, off topic, is a piece I wrote a couple of weeks ago which has Shelley's end rhymes tucked away in there (eg land, stone, sand, frown, command, read, things, fed, appear, kings despair, decay, bare, away.)

Another Ozymandias

Whatever land he came from
it was built in stone and very old
had lots of sand was very dry
enough to make him frown all day.
Tried to command the sun to go in
but everything he ever read made no sense
full of things beyond his ken.
Any animal he ever fed standing by the fence
did not appear too pleased at all -
four legged kings and sometimes men.
Despair was stencilled on their brows
decay was everywhere about them
bare land without a growing crop.
Away; he felt he had to go away.

Clerihew ?

#45 Post by jaywhat » June 13th, 2014, 4:55 pm

How about a clerihew -

Mr Nigel Farag
was let out at large
with alcoholic expectorate
to fool the entire electorate

invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley.
First line - A name (often famous), rhyme scheme AABB, (often forced/foreign) - line length and metre irregular (or not)

converting this clerihew to a limerick:

into believing his xenophobic barrage
