Board Games that never made it

Otherwise known as the Games Room, think of this as a subforum of the social club reserved just for sociable icebreaker games. Beware - they can be addictive!

Board Games that never made it

#1 Post by tea_ismynewjesus » November 3rd, 2010, 7:36 pm

Inspired by jamesjones950's thread.

From Little Britain: "Snakes & Snakes. It's like Snakes and Ladders, but with Snakes. Devilishly difficult - nobody's ever completed it".
Socialist Monopoly. This one's actually quite dull, I played it at a tea party once.

Squabble: like Scrabble but you are not allowed to use words with more than four letters.

Chinese crackers. Like chinese checkers, but you have to fry your own pieces first.

Alternative backgammon. Like normal backgammon, but the board is painted on the back of a live pig. Balancing the pieces can be tricky and wellingtons are compulsory. It's also crap if it's raining. The paint runs all over the pig obscuring the playing surface.

Piddly Winks. The object is to try to piddle into a small hole in the center of a board. The game is best played by very muscular men.

Probably more popular than the similarly-named Tiddly Wanks, where guys have a few drinks then do what they enjoy most.

Lictionary - where contestants have to identify drawings done using only the tongue

Operation - not the silly skills game with electronic burps and whistles - but a DIY kit to do minor surgical procedures at home thus helping to pay back the deficit. Laugh as you lance Grampa's neck boil!

Piggy in the Middle: in which participants make bacon sandwiches

Snap: in which you test the proposition that your sibbling's plastic toy is indeed "unbreakable"

Battleships: In which players try to find the most amusing use for aircraft carriers with no aircraft.

my favourite game! (not the safe one)

There was also a speed version called Brisk, for people who had better things to do than spend four hours pretending to conquer the world

Monotony - what Monopoly was originally called - did not sell well
