Our countup thread

#1 Post by jaywhat » April 6th, 2010, 4:50 pm

Starting with:-

1

This is the brilliant idea of jamesjones950 - so don't blame me.

As we are counting up perhaps we should be positive all the time or maybe put in a connection with the number.

your wish is my command, Nick.

I assume you are hinting at

4 candles.?

ps: this was my idea, but only as an answer to the question in our countdown thread: What do we do when we reach "1".

Didn't expect it to kick off straight away. What happens when the two threads collide? Might we be risking creating a black hole?

Only if the two threads are progressing at (or near) the speed of light.....

...which doesn't seem likely

Lucky we're not in Countdown or there'd be no flipping wall by now.
At least I am in eleventh heaven only just having managed to change to BST. Why does the forum not do it automatically?

14

What can I say about 14? Who had the daft idea to refer to the number anyway?
14 seems an awful lot and yesterday the woman in front of us at the Co-op had a trolley FULL of carrots. It was ABSOLUTELY FULL of packs of carrots. Full to the top with an unbelievable amount of the red root vegetable I have mentioned.
If you want to start up a conversation in a supermarket just fill your trolley with carrots - or anything, but perhaps carrots are best because if it were beer or wine it might point to a party or summat.
This was just carrots and in the conversation we had - well everyone in earshot joined in - we found out it was for a huge party. An absolutely huge amount of curry was being prepared and she had all the other ingredients.
(Perhaps with carrot cake for afters)

In the UK, at 18 one can vote, buy alcohol and tobacco, and be responsible for one's own debts.
