5+2=7. Continuing the Fibonacci/Lucas theme. (In outline, at least.)

Marian's alarm clock: time of death. Bravely and valiantly it kept ticking for more than 60 seconds before expiring with a final flimsy ding. It will be sorely missed. Marian is helping the clock police with their enquiries. :)

534 The clock police have confirmed time of death. They've even tried to draw a 'victim' line around the edges of the clock but that's kind of tough to do.

536: Detective Inspector Richard Tock (known to his friends as Dick Tock) said that the suspect is denying that she was being anti-clockwise but was acting in instinctive self-defence during an alarming experience.

Surely this is a job for Hercule Horloge, famous French-Canadien detective assigned to Toronto CSI (Clock Slaughter Investigation) ?

He's noted for his "hands-on" approach to the job, and clears up most cases in no time.

Let's face it, old Dick Tock is past his best and is decidedly run down

540 Toronto authorities commend clock police for fastest ever reponse to an alarm call. Tock replied humbly 'IWe just don't like people wasting time'...

I dunno, he still presents a good face, has a spring in his step, is good with his hands and builds a good case. I will grant that he gets wound up most days and has to be allowed to run down. But he is not behind the times that's for sure.

As for M. Horloge - he is just a mere cog in the mechanism, one of 540 I believe.

The most annoying cuckoo clock I ever heard cuckood once at quarter past, twice at half past, thrice at quarter to and four times on the hour. As it wasn't mine, I had to restrain myself from doing it an injury...

So in 2 days, 12.1111111 hours the darn thing will have cuckood 542 times, if my dismal O level commercial maths hasn't completely failed me
