Morning all! Sunny here. Probably saving the torrential horizontal rain for the weekend. :laughter:

Mind you, it was decidedly cool this morning, the third day of autumn.

Doesn't feel a bit like autumn here in the U.S. midwest. The heat indexes topped 100 degrees F again today. I was sweating so bad when I got to one client's house that she offered me a towel!

Ok, it still feels like summer in the daytime but the nights are a bit cooler and there will soon be frost; a lot of people have Victoria plum trees and the plums will soon ripen, a sure sign of autumn.

This morning is lovely again with fluffy cloud and sunshine, with the temp in the upper teens Celsius or sixties Fahrenheit, really comfortable. :)

I'm looking forward to a summer vacation in the Rocky mountains in Colorado. The weather is typically in the 70's, dipping into the 40's at night, and there's a river rushing right by the cabin we rent. Bliss!

That sounds fab, Hestia. It's lovely to be in the North of Scotland when the sun is shining.

Tut tut, Maria! I guess that would have been 997,383?

Yep, Hestia, that sounds great. North of Scotland was pretty good over the weekend too!

It's about the weather. Brits talk about little else. Sometimes cricket, but not today....

It's also about getting the number right which should normally be one lower than the one before : thus

Maria should have been 997,383

lewist (tut tut ! :laughter: ) should have been 997,382

then getreal would have been 997,381

Nina should have been 997,380 (we subtract Nin, NOT add  )

and then clever clogs, me, will be 997,379

(just my luck to now get summat wrong :pointlaugh: )

I don't suppose I need to point it out?
Or maybe it's not a mistake? And you are just using one of many different names that you have for Ninny?

Nick was saying at the weekend that we can't be right as the posts don't add up (or subtract), but I'm not bored enough to go through 143 pages to check. I play this game in the chatty spirit it has engendered.

We Brits only talk so much about the weather because we have so much of it.
So I'll remind you of the Norwegian saying: "There's no such thing as bad weather, merely the wrong clothes."

OK, how about 997377?

Oh! there are more; there are more; but you see, Alan, I am a man of many parts and not all the parts fit together. Using Alan C. would be perhaps more formal and using AC would be OK as long as I did not add DC. Having said that, on the subject of my wife, I must admit I did not realise I was using different names. Luckily I did not go into the full gammut including Nincompoop and other worse insults. :laughter:
