It's not too late, Autumn. If you drink no more wine this year then, at the end of the year, you'll be able to say you kept your resolution.

Autumn
Happy New Year everyone! I've broken my resolution to cut down on wine consumption already.
Shame on you! At 11.51am, I always refrain till post 7.00pm

Ah but, by my observations, in Scotland on the 1st and 2nd of January time is an irrelevance as the celebrations continue :)

In previous years I have hugely enjoyed the bonhomie of walking in Edinburgh at any time of day or night in that 48hr hiatus and being wished a Happy New Year by all I met. I did become very adept at firmly holding my hand out to shake hands rather than hug some of the more jolly men. And it worked grand.

One of the reasons I live in such a bloomin' cold and dark place :D

Likewise.

Incidentally. We've had more snow here in Vancouver BC in the last two weeks than we normally get in a year! A dozen people hve dies in snow sports related tragedies and we're all wondering when it'll let up.

On the plus side ... I've seen some excellent snow men in my neighbourhood. :D

Take note you sutherneeeers (UK) tomorrow we've got forecast daytime 3% nighttime 1%, you've got minus 10 for tomorrow.
Thursday and Friday we've got 9c for daytime and a low of 9c through the night as well :yahbooh: I feel like sowing seeds :scorepoint:
But not enough daylight yet, I have my sodium growlight, but the leeks and onions are under there and there aint room for much more.

It seems a bit milder here in Paradise this morning. Around freezing, I think. That's better than down to minus sixteen as I believe it was in Boat of Garten one night last week. Minus ten? Tropical in comparison.

Penguin sunbathing weather. :penguin:

Weather? What is all this talk about the weather?
Winter - so it's a bit cold.

Pull your socks up and get on with something - me? I'm just off to have another coffee and get on with my reading - then perhaps I'll fry an onion ready for my soup preparations. Today it is a yellow pepper plus onion (plus other bits and pieces) - quite wrongly called pepperoni
:laughter:

Lewis
I have a friend who is threatening to celebrate the auld New Year.

I'm going to see if I can find a Muslim friend, a Jewish friend, a Pagan friend, a chinese friend, and dare I say......... a Christian friend? It would be an all year round new year party.

I shudder at the thought of partying all year.

Personally I like impromptu parties that just happen because folk turn up and a great time is had as you happen to be in the same place at the same time and the conversation and company is irresistible.

She is a sweetie. I went down for the day on Thursday and she is now more alert and looking around a lot. She still needs a lot of feeding but she is putting on weight and is very good natured. Her Mum and Dad are still tired but getting a bit more sleep.

A day with Katie cured me of the miseries. :)
