Talking of Countdown, have you seen the replacement for carol Voderman?

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Apologies for the typo
in last post.
Who's carol Vordeman
You're not serious? Even I know, and I don't watch TV.
And on looking again at her replacement (never got lower than the big red lips first time) what are the tramlines on her neck and shoulders?

I see what you mean, Alan C, but I don't know the answer.
I'm not sure about Carol Vorderman either. Wasn't she on Who Do You Think You Are?

Thanks Lewist
The trouble with celebrity culture is that we are supposed to know and / or be interested. Leafing through a celeb mag in a waiting room recently I had no idea who anyone was - merely shocked by most of their skinniness. An atrocious example for my daughters. When I have the time i feel a post in the rant section coming...

For Fia and Lewis, Carol Vorderman (as far as I know) is one of those rare cases of a celebrity with brains, I remember watching the big switch on of channel 4, and countdown was the very first program (1982?) I liked her at first (when she was just a good looking brainy Co-presenter) But then she got CELEBRITY, and quickly went down in my estimation.

The bus was fine both ways, thanks. Cold outside but not inside and someone else was driving.
And Carol Vorderman
was on

You are having a laugh? Aren't you?
Carol Vorderman put on a brave face last night as she left Countdown after 26 years.
But she couldn’t stop the tears as she completed filming of the last of more than 4,750 episodes in the 59th series of the Channel 4 show.

Channel 4?
Countdown? I think that explains it, Alan!
I am really not aware of most of the people on the telly. They are doing the job I pay them for. I expect them to do it well and I don't see that they are more important than other people who do a good job such as my doctor or the guys who keep the roads open over the winter.
Generally my daughter - who seems to have a frighteningly encyclopaedic knowledge of these people - will give me information on why people are famous and why I should have heard of them.
I'm not aware of ever having seen Countdown though if I saw it my memory might be jogged. I tend only to watch the Beeb, except for my late night Freesat channel surfing which can come up with some bizarre stuff.

Carpe diem. Savour every moment.

Ah - although I've never watched it, I do remember countdown being cult viewing for students but I never had a tv then. And I only have one now until the youngest leaves home or it breaks. I won't miss it a jot. But if anyone tried to take away my R4 they'd have a fight on their hands
And yes, Nick, judges do wear wigs. Silly me, will try to be more precise next time I'm in judge mode

OK, Alan, I think I do remember it but I can't say I ever really watched it. It wasn't essential viewing like
The Goodies, now, was it?
