Latest post of the previous page:

Put the bin stuff out (in the cold) and filled the bird feeder so that feels good. Now the pond pump has to be sorted before the ice arrives - but not today.
Meanwhile we have just come back on line having been off (not just Thinkhu) so that makes one feel better - and tv is back on so just watched Bargain Hunt on catch up. Also well on the way to sorting out the heating so it is not too cold for me and not too hot for Ninny. Us old men are a real pain in the neck.

Well, I haven't done that for a long time - listen to "Desert Island Discs" that is.

But it was Bill Gates.

Glad I did, he still has a "nerdy" voice but...

But...? Presumably it was interesting?

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

I thought this for talking to oneself.

I not only talk, but I listen to myself so at least someone is listening to me even when I do not make much sense. I even reply to myself sometimes. I am not in the highest of spirits these days - feeling often down in the dumps whatever that means. Tomorrow is another group talk for people with stress etc. of all the places that make me smile it is Folly Hall. What an amazing name for a building that is used by the folly people, for the folly people.

The posters in the "Word Association game" thread are brilliant.

Bullies paint unfair pictures.

Porn takes the cute out of a girl.

I heard a boy say on NPR that when he wields a gun, he matters. Is Halloween a holiday for those who want to feel like they matter when they scare someone?

If by "matters" you mean, "Does it show people that they are living in a dream world and are unprepared for reality?" then yes.

The Brady Bunch did an episode on this.

Yay! Let's go watch the Brady Bunch!

I must stop watching Youtube channels showcasing all the new gadgets, toys and transport that is seeking crowd funding.

I WANT IT ALL!!!

I TOLD MYSELF I WOULD LOOK UP 'ramshackle'. I did that a little while ago but I have already forgotten what I was looking for.
The Seiko thesaurus is very good but my thinking today is clearly not clear- it is rather ramshackle. Cold cup of milk does not go down well.

Still with my early morning cold milk and a couple of rich tea biscuits. Have let the cat out (not out of the bag) as is my regular chore, but it's pitch black out there or was at 5.15.
Another bad night spent going for a pee every hour.

Anyway, Thanks to Athena for pointing me back to the Talk to Yourself thread, which I began some time ago (actually in July 2008)
Now I have to watch what I say so as not to embarrass myself. What's new?

It is still dark out there but I guess dawn is well on the way. Dora was out at 5.30 am but then zoologically speaking she is quite crepuscular. I know that means twilight and not dawn, but is such a lovely word that I use is for both.

Can't be bothered to talk to anybody or even myself. It is nearly 11am so when I get back from where I am going i shall try again.

This is hard going. Reinjecting the former sense of fun into the TH Forum is a worthwhile aim, though. Some of the old threads were really good. The Countdown was a hoot. Moose! Where are you? Zoe! Wheels! Goldie! It's a shame people drop out of the forum and we don't know if they're ok. Life moves on. Heigh Ho.

Showered last night, barbers this morning unless I change my mind - it might be to busy for me. Meanwhile the bottle bank calls and then the poetry group at the library but I think I shall leave there early and stay on the bus to the hospital audio department to have my hearing aids seen to - might do none of this. Tomorrow I must definitely make a vegetable stew; I promised myself and we have the ingredients already.

I am reorganising the order of diagnostic questions in our Entry Level 3 English (functional skills) book, as we have decided that there are too many initial questions. Could life get any more exciting?

Why I opened the cat flap this morning I do not know, except that it is a habit. Dora was not in sight and the snow that has fallen overnight could be keeping her indoors. As a kid it was 'yippee' there is snow everywhere - now it is everywhere and not making old gits like me at all happy. Not at all happy.

While Jaywhat was unlocking the cat flap, said cat was my snoring hot water bottle. Thanks, Dora!

Dora not around this morning but I shall see her later. As for Ninny I shall not see her until tomorrow when she returns from her knitting week in Pisa. I have been up a lonely tower as well.
I get a visit from a poet friend this morning and then afternoon a physio brings me more exercises .....??
