God almost out of Univ. of Alberta convocation

#1 Postby lagagnon » January 27th, 2009, 1:08 am

A small, but useful win by the U of A Atheists and Agnostics has succeeded in "almost" removing mention of God at the U of A convocation ceremony:

Looks pretty reasonable to me. A most civilised act.

Excellent! Did you have a hand in it, Lagagnon?

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

Agreed. The new wording is a good compromise.

However, scroll down and take a look at the comments! Unbelievable ignorance rules!

Those replies were amazing. Linda's quote:...
If you break the law one day and have to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. so help you GOD what will you do or say then?
...is just laughable.

The main article really cheered me up.
There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating staying in EU.

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of staying in the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens will be caused by leaving EU?
3. Should the supreme court ruling on British subjects be based in UK?

Some of these people (in the comments) are so stupid, it stops being funny, and becomes a bit worrying.
Off topic, but...........
Does anybody else think that there are going to be major problems, say in the next ten years, between the various cults in Europe? The Jews, the Christians, and the Muslims, certainly can't seem to get on, will it come to a head? What do you think is likely to happen?

Feel free to split this off Maria.
