Defenceless Britain

There was Litvinenko...

Now the Skripals and other suspicious murders...

What does Farage say recently? He urges Teresa May to, quote, "stand strong like Russia" !!
And he calls others rude and bullying...

Farage must be one of the rudest, dimmest and least helpful politicians ever. That he is so effective says much about Britain today.

Teresa May says she will "retaliate" against Russia. Boris Johnson says the UK has "support" from other countries. Verbal and moral support, no doubt. From what I've read there's little to nothing the UK can do that won't hurt us as much as Russia and support won't include much practical help.

I've seen it written that the single act that would inconvenience Russia the most would be to cancel Brexit.

What the Tories really need is a war to distract from the catastrophe that is Brexit.
Alan Henness

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

more serious suggestion. Why the hell is Britain continuing to participate in the World Cup if we feel so strongly about Putin's Russia? I have just signed a petition that we drop out and put some pressure on prominent footballers to add their weight to the protest

A fair guess would be that it's down to money. It always is.

Not sure I'd call it brilliant, but rather better than I was expecting from Ian Dunt!

tempting to support it, about as far as I would go. Lots of counter-arguments of the tu quoque kind, and would it make any dent? We really should be boycotting the World Cup IMO
