Ken especially, I have been researching this somewhat but have not got an answer. Has any presidential candidate from the main two parties failed to win a single state? I know that Alf Landon and Walter Mondale came quite near to this achievement

No, it hasn't happened. Also, George McGovern won only Mass. (plus also DC) in 1972 against Nixon. My one vote wasn't enough in this case!animist wrote:Ken especially, I have been researching this somewhat but have not got an answer. There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:
1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

the last part of the last sentence is "the Queen made it clear that she has never used e-mail and has only had sex with one person “very occasionally.”" This reply dates me so-ooo much, but I still love the schoolboy joke of the 1960s which went as follows:Alan H wrote:The final solution to the Trump problem? I am utterly horrified at what the election has boiled down to. As an American citizen, I can truly say that I have never been so disappointed with my countrymen. Donald Trump stands as an anathema to everything that a free society ought to be, but I guess this is what happens when Corporatism and poorly educated masses are the norm.

Two more days! It looks like Hillary has gone ahead slightly in the polls again despite the attempt to influence the voters by FBI director Colmey. Florida still a tossup.
So, I'll either be staying put or moving to Canada or the UK, depending on the outcome. Don't know if I could survive the the climate in Canada or the pubs in England...

Canada is nice but a bit too cold, but not sure I'd advise anyone to move here to Toryland. We're having a few local difficulties of our own...Ken H wrote:So, I'll either be staying put or moving to Canada or the UK, depending on the outcome.

How will Trump spin and lie about this? No criminality in Clinton emails - FBI
The FBI says it has found no evidence of criminality in a new batch of Hillary Clinton emails.
FBI Director James Comey said in a letter to congressmen the agency had finished its review and found nothing to alter its original conclusion.
In July, he said Mrs Clinton had been careless but not criminal in handling sensitive material on her private email server while secretary of state.
The issue flared up again with the discovery of new "pertinent" emails.
They were reportedly found on the laptop of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of one of the Democratic presidential candidate's closest advisers.

Re: 2016 US election
Glad to hear Comey has "discovered" they have nothing to indict Hillary on. I doubt he will keep his job should Clinton win. Nasty business.
