Donald Trump

#1 Postby Alan H » June 16th, 2015, 10:50 pm

Does he stand a chance of being elected President of the US and how much does it cost to leave this planet?
Alan Henness

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

I find him to be one of the most obnoxious people on the planet. When Alex Salmond was cosying up to him he lost a lot of my respect.

Obama cracked a great joke about him on the Jay Leno chat show, he was asked about his relationship with Trump and he said something like, "When Donald and I were growing up together in Kenya..."
He also had another go at him during the White House's Correspondent's Dinner.
They are on YouTube somewhere

He used the Neil Young song "Rocking in the Free World" without permission.

Neil Young has said that he is a long term supporter of Bernie Saunders :laughter:

Aw! Give the guy a beak!

It's no more preposterous than Boris standing for leader of the Tories. At least Boris is entertaining- though I think he's more dangerous.

The crapper the leader of a Right-wing party, the better the chances of a less right-wing party getting elected. (Or even a very-slightly-less-right-wing party). So I say 'Go for it, Trump!'

Sorry, Altfish. Haaretz lets you read a certain number of articles per month if you subscribe (free, just sign up). Well worth it if you like well-considered, well-written articles from a variety of viewpoints.

Donald Trump Really Doesn’t Want Me to Tell You This, But …
Over a long weekend on assignment for Playboy magazine, Mark Bowden found that behind the garish Trump façade lies only more ugliness.

I think this is an insult...to teenagers:
The ideas that pop into his head are the same ones that occur to any teenager angry about terror attacks. They appeal to anyone who can’t be bothered to think them through—can’t be bothered to ask not just the moral questions but the all-important practical one: Will doing this makes things better or worse? When you believe in your own genius, you don’t question your own flashes of inspiration.
