Gloria Hunniford says daughter sends messages from heaven

#1 Post by Chineapple punk » July 26th, 2009, 2:47 pm

"Four years after the tragic death of her daughter Caron Keating, TV presenter Gloria Hunniford has found a way to deal with her grief.
The Northern Irish TV host, 68, has found comfort in what she believes to be 'messages' from her late daughter.
Speaking to Fern Britton and Philip Schofield on This Morning earlier today, Hunniford said she regularly encounters lone feathers, which she believes are a sign from Keating in Heaven"

I do feel very sorry for Gloria Hunniford on the loss of her daughter, but is this really dealing with your grief? She has obviously been through a hell of a time but is retreating into a fantasy world the best course of action. This article comes off the back of a new program she is hosting on SKY Real lives called "Angels". I had to watch it because I am a bit of a masochist when it comes to these things. And it was, as I suspected, a lamentable piece of television.

It involved members of the public sharing their angelic experiences, with angel "experts" on hand, to offer rational or divine explanations for these experiences. I am not quite sure what qualifies you to be an angel expert? Any thoughts?

LOL :hilarity: I hadn't heard that particular snippet from Carlin before. He's right, there is an awful lot of negative shit about Goblins!

Poor lady. I'm sorry. On the brighter side, however, I've been finding single feathers on the stairwell of my ninth storey flat, the lifts being out of order for four weeks now (this is Russia). I don't know if this the local drug addicts getting hungry enough to eat the pigeons that sit on the window sills or perhaps somebody I know has died but I just don't know who it is.

Joking aside, and obviously against the sort of nonsense she's spouting, I do really feel sorry for her. To hurt so much that her mind allows itself to pursue these channels of thought. Having one's child die first is indeed a terrible thing. That's why I am a little less disposed to have a go at her than at those who come out with nonsense whatever the weather. Poor poor woman.

How do these charlatans, posing as "angel experts" sleep at night?

They are actually preying on vulnerable people's distress.

Profiteering from other's despair.

They are despicable.

Just write a load of books full of made-up stuff about them.

Whatever GH is getting from her fantasies about her daughter's posthumous communications, at least they do no harm to anyone else.

Her continually promoting (as well as financially supporting) homeopathy and other quackery, on the other hand...source.
I have regular acupuncture and homeopathic treatment from Jan de Vries, who runs alternative health clinics around the country.

That quack (Jan De Fries) lives only a few miles from here. He has shops selling nonsense potions and book; there's one in my local town.

He is hugely popular here.

Unfortunatly.

I think it's probably impoetant to remember that GH is not doing her series on Sky for free. She will be handsomely paid for her contributions.

At least it's not my license fee -though it is my Sky subs :boohoo:
