I am in no way defending tghe despicable actions of the police in this matter, but you neglected to mention that most of the victims were crushed or trampled, a consequence of poor fire safety measures such as fire escapes. The school also apparently lacked fire extinguishers, fire doors, and fire alarms. It is also the case that the most vehement condemnation of the police role in this tragedy came from other Muslims, via the Saudi press. https://www.hrw.org/news/2002/03/14/sau ... criticizedVINDICATOR wrote: they were all beaten back into the fire, resulting in 15 school-girls burning to death and wounding 50 more!
