Oh! Paws for Thought sounds good, too.. Conveys thoughtful training.
Certainly got a few to think about.
Thank you.

Re: Help finding an appropriate name
Thanks, some of these are definite possibilities. Friendly Fidos sounds promising, Dave.
My friend suggested Positive Paws. I'd welcome any comments on that.

Help finding an appropriate name
For my training club. It must be able to convey a positive message. And be clear it's a dog training class. Alliteration is good. I had thought of Diamond Dogs, but I'm going off it a bit. I had also thought of Peaceful Paws. To convey that training will help the dog to be nicer to live with- but it...

Re: Make Drugs Legal??
. is was a subject we had to team-debate at college. I was the "spokesman" for the anti-legalisation spokesman. Can't remember all the arguments now but a bit of research seemed to indicate that lots might be saved in some areas but the NHS at least would need a larger budget to cope with the accid...

Old Favorites Revisited
I've taken to reading music bios of late and have just finnished one on Keith Moon. I had no idea he was so extreme! I don't know if it's me getting old, or just a sign of the times, but is found myself feeling disgusted at some of the hotel trashing the Who were responsible for. I also had forgotte...

Re: How do you haud yer wheesht?
Wagging tail is generally just a sign of heightened emotion. A lot depends on how it is wagging. A tail held upright and wagging can be a precursor to a lunge and possibly an attack, a low held tail wagging slowly can be a sign they are apprehensive. A helicopter tail (going round like the blades of...

Re: How do you haud yer wheesht?
Other peoples nativity never fails to disappoint me. Otherwise sensible people believing utter gobshite. I think I may have mentioned this before, but at one of the training sessions the trainer said that after lunch we will be discussing communicating with dogs. Brilliant, I thought. Dogs body lang...

How do you haud yer wheesht?
Or, in English, how do you keep quiet when people are talking absolute bullshit? I attended a training day today. Unfortunately one of the sessions was on Tellington TTouch. If you have never heard of this particular brand of woo, you are in for a treat as it ticks every box on the list as complete ...

Re: Poultry Keeping
I like the idea of letting them "graze" on veg plots when they are fallow. Apparently they are excellent at eating all those pesky grubs and pests- especially leather jackets. And the scratching and pooping helps too Still now sure. I'll speak to my daughter- she has recently taken on some hens and ...

Early doors.
WTF? I loath that expression. It only started being used in the last 20 years and I really really irritates me.
And the west of Scotland usage of "how" instead of "why". Agggggghhhhh!!!!

Re: Your favourite book
Since we are including childhood,.. My favourite was far and away, the Malory Towers books by Enid Blyton. How I wished I went to that school! A swimming pool fashioned out of the coastal rocks, replenished twice a day from the seawater. What's not to like? I, too, read the Female Eunuch and was blo...

Possibly The Loved One by Evelyn Waugh.
It's so sharp and observant. I love Anything by Waugh.
He has human nature down to a tee.

I just cannot get my head round the ability of engineers and physicists to get an object the size of a friidge to meet up with a small object, 500million miles away and travelling at tens of thousands of miles per hour and actually land on it. It's mind bending! I suspect it's not real. All done in ...

Re: Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership
I don't pretend to know a lot about this, but I believe it may have a huge impact on how the NHS provides services in Scotland. They will be compelled to put contracts out to tender. As most of you know, there is very little private sector involvement in healthcare in Scotland. I also read at it is ...

I doubt many people would disagree with you about changing the drugs laws.
They clearly don't work.
The problem is, relaxing the regulations around drugs is political scuicide. No major party would be brave enough to do this.

Re: Thanks Jihadists. You have made us forget that this is a
Whilst there is merit it changing the drugs laws and it's probably true that terrorists find sources of funding in illegal drugs, I think it's naive to think that if you take drugs out of the equation these "religious" wars will cease to exist. I'm not aware there was huge consumption of illegal dru...
