Re: Favourite words, and why.
Notwithstanding - such a beautiful word needs no explanation. (I expect it has German origins - sticking words together to make new ones is their national sport)

Re: Masons open day
Yes, you could ask them about all the "charity work" they supposedly do, From where I'm sitting their charity only extends to family members of the cult And yes, It is a cult. Ah now there is the rub. The "Charity" includes The Masonic Lodge itself. The families of dead comrades, the children of cu...

This ruling is welcome but for me the key issue remains - “We also call for the lifting of the exemption that religious groups enjoy from general animal welfare provisions for animals to be stunned prior to slaughter. The Parliament voted last year to permit member states to lift the exemption if th...

Lifelinking also has a pasty/clotted cream fetish. He is currently suffering from third degree burns having got things the wrong way around - he ate the cream whilst smearing himself in hot Gingsters.Lifelinking wrote:Dave B knows cos he is one of the paparazzi

You are supposed to tell a lie about the poster above you. Your post speaks the truth!ludite wrote:mike is using his avatar to try and hypnotise every one into agreeing with him.
Dave likes to smear himself in the above mentioned clotted cream whilst eating a Gingsters Cornish Pasty. It really turns him on.

I live in the New Forest and cannot bear the thought of a year away from this wonderful place. But, if you pushed me, I guess that I would choose either County Waterford in Ireland or a narrow boat on the Great River Ouse in Cambridgeshire.

Marian was one of fifty people arrested by Thames Valley Police late last night. All those detained claimed to be going to a rave but actually they were looking for the afore-mentioned satanic ritual.

Re: Honours systems
And what would you do if an ordinary person becomes extraordinary? As said above, I feel that that is who awards should be for. Hmmm... And you think that civil servants, MP's and the senior miltary have got to their exalted position just by turning up to work? Would you swap places with any of the...

Re: Honours systems
As I mistakenly (because it was sort of off topic) said on the other thread, I am all in favour of honours for ordinary folk who have done something extraordinary. A couple of years ago a good friend of ours (just an ordinary Joe) received the MBE. He throughly deserved the recognition (it was for s...

Re: Fox attack! Really?
Unfortunatly, this has whipped up a whole lot of chatter amoungst the green welly brigade. Unpleasant chatter. Exactly my point. Whether the story is true or not (and for me the Jury is out on that) the hunting, shooting and bloodthirsty b******s brigade are milking this for all it's worth. And, wi...

Call me suspicious but has anyone else considered the timing of this event? Too much coincidence for me!!!!

It does seem an odd story and certainly does not fit in with the MO of the average wild animal. Call me suspicious but has anyone else considered the timing of this event? Too much coincidence for me!!!!

Re: Is spending shitloads of money on pet vet treatment immoral?
surely not 'utterly astonishing' . . . rather it is a view you do not agree with . . . surely it is sometimes quite right and kind to put animals (or humans) out of their pain and misery? I agree that sometimes it is kinder etc etc. The part that I found "utterly astonishing" was the fact that she ...

Re: Is spending shitloads of money on pet vet treatment immoral?
referring to the title of this thread makes me think of a programme that is broadcast here at 9.15 am every weekday morning. Animal 24/7 follows RSPCA and Dogs Trust etc ;to get stories of animals having been illtreated. Also rescued wild animals. I get upset when I see so much being spent to rescu...
