If the Church of England seems weak to me and if it was separate from the State, maybe it would not be so weak. I don't think church state separation would affect important things like religious schools - they would still exist. There would still be charity for church roof repairs and probably praye...

But isn't the point that it doesn't 'qualify' as a mental illness as far as the doctors are concerned? So they can't section someone who refuses treatment on religious grounds.
