Re: Should parents have the right to refuse...
Hi Anna! You wrote: I would not give any vaccines to my children or myself or my dog with the information I have at the moment. Frankly, this is bonkers! .... Indeed it is - totally and utterly. Some of us have been pussyfooting around, trying to be polite about it - well done for puncturing the ba...

Re: Should parents have the right to refuse...
Anna I'll take these one at a time. Some people, like myself, have a pre-conception that toxic injections into healthy children or using products like Calpol to bring down fever artificially or too early, or using antibiotics for most infections in healthy bodies, is not wise. I'll talk about wheth...

Re: The UK is in moral decline
Something I am concerned about but not necessarily being a symptom but perhaps a cause of moral decline (or at least change) is our increasing individual isolation. By that I mean that - there is far more of use now travel to work by car (on our own) or working from home, - those on public transport...

Re: ID Cards
Recent Guardian article on problems with fingerprints of those over 75. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/aug/15/idcards
The stasi-state's solution will presumably be to ban over 75s from traveling.

apologies, my post should have been addressed to Lesley. I was referring to her post of Tue Aug 19, 2008 4:29 pm all about her personal experience, i.e a sample size of one.

Most of your post deals with a sample size of one which is not statistically significant.
Maybe we should ban all vaccines, reintroduce smallpox and then see what the anti-vaccine brigade think of the result.

Re: Mummy, can I have a toy gun?
As Gaynor Sbuttoni, an educational psychologist who specialises in the emotional needs of young boys, says: “If you withhold guns they will pretend that a stick is a gun. You can't prevent children from experiencing things that they need to experience. They will find another way.” My son (9) has bu...
