Re: Another child dies courtesy of magic medicine treatments

It seems odd to me that when faced with JW who will not agree to blood products being given to their seriously ill children, the courts seem to side with science and dismiss the parents religious views, ensuring the child receives appropriate treatment. Yet in the case of one of these children they ...

Re: Another child dies courtesy of magic medicine treatments

The clinic in Florida. It wasn't "traditional". I don't know if she had traditional treatment as well as the stuff from the Florida clinic. The clinic is not forst nation tradition. It's your usual pseudo science stuff. I believe they have been criticised before - especially as the head honcho uses ...

Re: Another child dies courtesy of magic medicine treatments

No. This was nothing to do with "culture". They attended some big quack doctor in (I think) Oregon. He runs a big slick operation offering "laser" treatments and allsorts of other nonsense. I'll try to find a link to the place. ETA: this is the place she attended. I wonder how much they made out of ...

Re: Another child dies courtesy of magic medicine treatments

I know that there is not much information- and that's only from news sources, so is, in itself, not necessarily reliable.

But. There are so many of these cases. Why are the purveyors of false hope treatments allowed to continue?

Another child dies courtesy of magic medicine treatments

Found this on my timeline this morning and it makes me so angry. How can this be allowed to happen? The type of leukaemia she had has a 90% survival rate when treated with real medicine by real doctors. http://globalnews.ca/news/1781714/ontario-girl-who-refused-chemo-in-favour-of-traditional-medicin...

Re: Breaking Bad

I've bought series 1-3 on DVD and have started series 3. I love the way the storyline has been so difficult to predict! I can't do the spoiler thing, So I'll not say too much- but it has not been anything like I expected a storyline about a terminally-ill-chemistry-teacher-turned-meths-producer to b...

Re: Is there a best way to die?

Most of the deaths I have witnessed to cancer have not been peacefull, though most-but by no means all- have been pain free. Most have though involved a lack of dignity (despite the beat attempts of staff. Being cleaned of faeces, when you cannot control your bowels, can never be called "dignified"....

Re: Old Favorites Revisited

I'd like to learn to play the drums.

I'd like to be the best Scottish granny who plays like Keith Moon.

I wonder how much a cheap drum kit costs?

.....and a few cherry bombs.

Re: Old Favorites Revisited

Ken,Myers I have heard Philip.Glass' Low Symphony. I believe he also did one based on "Heroes". Currently I'm reading Pete Townsends autobiography. He's quite a complex character and he's had a very interesting life. I think it's interesting that the two remaining Who members are the ones who didn't...

Well that's surprising (not).

I tried to post a response on the Facebook page and I can't.

Bugger. Now no one will listen to my calls for shamanistic healing to be available on the NHS.

Re: Help finding an appropriate name

Thanks Alan.

I asked my brothers what they thought of Positive Paws and they simultaneously mimed being sick! They said it was sickly sweet.

Though their suggestions were terrible! Angry Dogs was one of the less offensive ones.

Thanks, Alan. I did think about a website, but I'm going to go with a Facebook page initially. May think of a website later.

I just hope someone wants to come along!
