Re: Make a New Word, Use a new Word

In our house, hospidoddle, has become the word for the child health clinic. It was my toddler's invention and thought a good word to distinguish between visiting the clinic, which is a doddle, compared to staying in hospital overnight.

Re: The Virgin Daughters Channel 4

Maybe it's because my brain is befogged with a cold but I don't understand quite why this purity thing is so important. It's a very old idea, isn't it, that if a woman isn't a virgin bride she's damaged goods and it's been codified in all the major religions, so far as I know. Does it perhaps stem ...

I didn't think I was particularly impressed by celebrity but on two separate occasions recently, I happened to see very famous pe...

Re: Darwin's 200th anniversary

So, what (if anything) are people interested in when it comes to Darwin? I'm more interested generally in his life and times than in the evolution stuff. I can't be bothered to read a biography but was interested to hear that he married a Wedgewood and I'm still unsure as to the extent of his relig...

Re: Humanism for Schools - new BHA site.
