Never noticed this before today (a small thing, but mine own): HX51dC9c1oc Well, er, is it static that keeps them from being, er, static? Just remembered, working part time in a factory where expanded polystyrene beads were made. If they escaped the aeration chamber, more like a vacuum chamber, ('c...

Re: Critical thinking/conspiracy theories

This was posted on a homeopathy group I monitor: I've been reading about the heavy metal contaminants in Chem Trails for the last two days and wondering if my horrible cough is due to some of these things I've been breathing in…a day of a complete cloud cover and then a two minute intense storm. On...

Re: Is there a funny pics thread?

If God created man in his own image, but the only humans that God created were Adam and Eve (Semitic raciality) , then God must have been Semitic too. Then where did the other races of man come from? ie. Black, yellow, red, brown, white, etc.? It couldn't be due to evolution because Fundies don't b...

Re: John Noakes 1934 - 2017

Whose childhood was he not a great part of? John Noakes: The action man of Blue Peter I am sorry to hear about this, although he was mostly active during an earlier period when I did possess or watch TV, either in the RAF or living in a cheap bedsitter. But the many clips I have seen over the years...

Re: Compulsory voting - good or bad?

Animist said: Dave thinks that such elections would be cancelled, but surely this would not work - the voters who strongly supported the winning candidate would be furious at not being represented. OK, if more voted an abstention that any other option . . . Then a re-election would be democratic. Bu...

Re: Compulsory voting - good or bad?

As a past resident of Belgium, I know that voting there is compulsory. A failure to vote inflicts a fine on the non-voter. Be interesting to see what would happen if such a law were invoked here! I would generally be in favour of such a law here, but for the practical difficulties. If the state was...

Re: Tips

I got myself scratched on my arm by a vicious thorny plant thing by the street door. It didn't want to stop bleeding with just a plaster and I had no bandages. Then I remembered the elastic ankle supports I bought when I had foot trouble. Worked perfectly as a comfortable pressure bandage on the arm...
