Re: An act of God?

They call this "Touchdown Jesus" in Ohio. Anyone hear Obama's speech yesterday about the oil spill destroying much of the Gulf of Mexico. He ended his worthless speech asking Americans to pray for the Gulf. Seriously this is what he did. Too bad Touchdown Jesus was destroyed or he could bring all th...

Re: Euthanasia

I was a member of the Hemlock Society back when I was a simple Atheist. From there we became "Death With Dignity" and now we are "Compassion and Choices." Our headquarters are in Denver Colorado and we have organizations in many states who have shown an interest in this subject. I am on Board of Dir...

Re: Selling Humanism

con't. I was always involved in political campaigns. We avoided the churches as they had no interest in politics. The Separation of Church and State was highly respected. I went on line in the early 90s and ran head long into a culture of hell and damnation. Again I was a sponge soaking up the hatre...

Re: Selling Humanism

I think Humanism is a far more natural philosophy for human beings. In American politics, we accepted the fact that few Christians had a mind set of trying to discuss freedoms for all things. Back in the 50s and 60s Christians did not vote. Those who did, managed to learn about the horrors of slaver...

Re: Selling Humanism

Thank you. I learned to swing with the punches years ago. I got away from my family and never again had to attend church. My interest in Chambermusic found me renting the santuaries in many churches on the Central Coast when our symphony orchestra wanted to play more concerts as trios and all string...

Re: Selling Humanism

When I ask if these church goers believe in Jesus they ask back "doesn't everybody?" From their early age, they were exposed to the wonders of Jesus Christ and Christmas and Easter confirmed their information. They have never questioned this story. I usually ask about Santa Claus at this point and t...

Re: Selling Humanism

Maria, I interviewed many Christians on the subject and fear of what the religion could do to American values. We have Sarah Palin telling the GOP that God is advising her to change the Constitution to include references of Jesus. I had so many replies and threats that I was mentally deranged and sh...

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?

My user name is my own. When you get my age, you require a simple and easy lifestyle. I was born in Santa Monica and spent my youth on the sand and ocean. Sandy was easily understood.
