Re: Is there a funny pics thread?
For all my pinko, Trotskyist friends, just to show there's no hard feelings, I'm sending you a therapeutic picture for you to print out to help you cope with the credit crunch.... :D http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z211/nickburton_photos/LP982camdotodot.jpg Is it just me, or does Cameron look li...

Re: Homeopathy
Surely a majority of MPs have enough sense and knowledge to sort this out. Given that we (the electorate, that is) vote out our most scientifically-competent MP while returning Tredinnick time and again, there ain't much chance of getting MPs to do the sensible thing. Yep. Worse, once we've elected...

Hatters football... can't be Luton Town, shurely?
But be it "Mad hatter patriots get a letter wrong and play old instrument, until Tess... (9)" or "Hatters football patriots get a letter wrong and play old string instruments - until Tess..." I'm still a bit confuzzled

Re: Arguments for the existence of God
Maybe the 'are there any moral facts?' thread would have been more appropriate. (Or am I just saying that because I've already made clear my attitude to debating with the far-right there?) ..or sign up at DU and find out just how silly your "far right" designation is? You're right, it is somewhat o...

Re: Arguments for the existence of God
If you don't see the DU Home page the way I do that's your view. I'd be very interested to know what made you think that it was "anti-intellectual" - other than a knee-jerk reaction to something you didn't like reading, that is. a site run and controlled by a supporter of the English Defence League...

Re: Arguments for the existence of God
Can I be arsed debating with anti-immigrant bigots? No thanks. That is possibly one of the most inaccurate first impressions I've read. But nobody's forcing you to sign up, so I don't suppose it matters. Sorry if reading the home page of Mr Willet's site looks to me like a long string of anti-immig...

Re: Arguments for the existence of God
Philbo, what better forum than this to advance his views - do you know of one? Better? Probably not. I enjoy hanging out at this place , though. [ This place semed like a vigorous debating arena at first glance, but reading the 'Join Us' piece, I think it's just some right-winger wanker wanting a f...

Re: Arguments for the existence of God
I'll take a longer look at the other forum, philbo, (not that I'm deserting this one!,) but initial thoughts? 12 moderators! Wow, strong debate! :laughter: :) Don't think I'm in that list any more.. I was a few years back, IIRC, but I don't think I ever used my mod powers even then. It's very "light...

Re: Arguments for the existence of God
I have to say I hope Mick does not depart, as I think he is genuine and all Xians are a stimulus to prevent us from getting cosy. "Genuine" is an interesting way of putting it. As this thread went on, the more I got the impression that he lapsed into jargon as a way of avoiding being pinned down, o...
