I've been wanting to try one of these. I've heard some good things and some bad things about them. I guess there's a lot of room for variety depending on where you go.

Those are the kids who need to see it most.

Most of them are just differently colored stripes. I like the ones that are different, like the South Korean one already posted and the Saint Pierre and Miquelon

Re: Are you a humanist or what?

I don't share either your reverence or your awe, in fact I'm opposed to showing reverence and awe towards the universe. However, leaving that aside, I'm puzzled why you call such a position "pantheism"? To me the word would signify an identification of "everything" with God (distinguishable from pa...

Hey it worked for me. And a few other people I know. It takes a long time and it can be very frustrating, but people do change.

Just a google search if I remember correctly. I hadn't heard of BHA or HSS or any of this other stuff you're all talking about.

Re: How do you feel about religion?

It really depends on the religions, not the guy in charge. I'm referring to things like the Mormon church's involvement with Prop 8, etc. Which is not going to change any time soon, but hopefully it will become less relevant.

Re: Reading the Bible

I haven't read the whole thing cover to cover, but I mostly know what's in there. The Skeptics Annotated Bible highlights all the crazy parts - and there are a lot of them. As grammar king said, it works really well in an argument if you can use the Christian's own bible against them.

Re: How do you feel about religion?

Religion is fine as long as it stays out of politics.

Which is never. At least in the US.

Re: Are you a humanist or what?

Pantheism for me would not involve anything supernatural, just an attitude of reverence and awe towards the universe. Same thing with spiritual. Maybe it's just a mental relic from my Catholic days, only replacing "God" with "Mother Nature"

Re: Are you a humanist or what?

Agnostic
Humanist
Secularist
Freethinker
Naturalist
Pantheist
Spiritual

From the original list, these are the ones I would probably consider most accurate in describing myself. The funny thing is I used to hate labels. Now I've got too many!

I always have the hardest time coming up with user names. I went with Albus because I really like the character of Dumbledore from the Harry Potter books.

Re: Do you ever go to church?

I go to church with my family whenever I'm at home just because they want me to but I never go other than that. I don't mind. There's not a lot of involvement and I've done it my whole life, so it's not really hard to pretend like I care what's going on.
