Another Victory for Humanism!

Kudos Britain! You have vindicated yourself! CNN just came out with an article saying that the new 50 Pound Note put out in Britain wil have the face of Alan Turing on it. Turing was a "code breaker, visionary mathematician, father of computer science and artificial intelligence". He broke...

Re: Humans should go vegan

Dear Compassionist,
You ask me why I wont convert to Vegan. First you tell me why I shouldn't swat flies, mosquitoes, bedbugs, cockroaches, etc. I think Noah made a mistake when took all these onto his Ark. I would have let them all perish in the great flood!

Re: Religion and happiness

Dear Compassionist, You are right again. There are at least a thousand gods worshipped on Earth alone. Now all Gods are narcissistic. If you don't worship them you will burn in Hell fire for eternity. However, all Gods are also jealous.(See the Ten Commandments for an example) If you happen to worsh...

Re: Religion and happiness

Dear Compassionist, You're absolutely right. Religion makes people happier. That's one of the reasons why religion is so tenacious. Whether you like it or not, people love religion. You should be familiar with the "Pascal Wager"? If not look it up on the internet. They say that many people...

Re: 15 issues with Christianity

Hi DLH, You seem to be an expert on the Bible. My hobby is astronomy and that makes understanding the Bible very difficult for me so I need your help. For instance the Bible says that the Earth was created on the first day and the stars were created on the 4th day. That means that the Earth is 3 day...

Re: Humans should go vegan

Dear Compassiuonist, I agree with you on most issues but I won't convert to vegan. I also have no compassion for flies, mosquitos, bedbugs, etc. and am sorry that Noah took them onto his ark to save them! I didn't even know that there was a Jainism before you mentioned it. It is one of the oldest re...

Re: Humans should go vegan

Dear Compassionist, I don't think that having a brain and nervous system are sufficient to be sentient. I think that even a Buddhist would swat flies and mosquitos. I am not a vegan but I despise those that hunt just for the fun of it and those that enjoy watching an animal die a horrible death! In ...

Re: Humans should go vegan

Hi Compassionist, The problem is who is sentient? Is a dog semtient? Modern Buddhism believes in reincarnation where people can be reincarnated into animals such as dogs, cats, or even pigs! So when you eat pork you might be eating your grandfather! Do dogs have a soul? In one of my posts I told you...

Re: Humans should go vegan

Hi, Compassionist, You had me worried for a while, I thought the boogy-man got you. So you are now campaigning for thr Vegans? You will never win. God/Allah not only lets us eat meat, he tells us how to murder the animals to eat. For instance Muslims must eat ""Hallil" meat which mean...

Re: Atheist summits aim to find community, and power, in networking nonbelievers

If we Atheists (people who don't believe in a personal God created in the image of a human despot sitting on a throne commanding everyone to worship him or else burn in Hell for eternity) want to wean people away from religion we will have to establish "Churches" too. By "Church"...

Re: Atheist summits aim to find community, and power, in networking nonbelievers

Why are entrenched religions so powerful and tenacious, even when the basis of the religion is as silly as Santa-Claus, the Tooth-Fairy, or some other character out of a fairy-tale? Why is it so difficult to wean beleavers away from belief in magic? Isaac Newton was one of the greatest human minds. ...
