Re: Oh no! Randi throws a bone to the climate change deniers!
One of the things the skeptics/deniers have picked up on is the refusal to make raw data available (and it is frequently concluded from that alone there is no such thing as AGW!). This is a complete red herring. The CRU had been bombarded with requests and they took the decision not to hand over th...

Re: Nice one, Ian & "You may not beleive in God but ..." merger
The problem is that physical and statistical arguments for the likely lack of a super-being require a certain amount of education or intelligence to understand (certainly to meaningfully refute). So a lot of stuff is beyond the comprehension of many religionists.

Re: Should creationists be given a platform?
I voted yes... for now. Until the academic environment exists for theology itself to get dropped as a serious discipline, and until the view remains common without being in and of itself harmful, it can be occasionally debunked in high level academic platforms. By and large I would deny on principle...

Re: Interview the person below you.
I milked a cow when I was about seven or something. It wasn't much fun (for me or the cow, I suppose) and I sucked at it. Have you ever, in real life, heard the phrase "do you know who I am?" uttered seriously (or even better, uttered it yourself)? edit: I just realised my answer re milking could be...

Re: Urban Myths
The car that didn't go: the Chevrolet Nova failed to sell in Spanish-speaking countries because it translates as “doesn't go” in Spanish. In reality, Novas had no problem selling south of the Rio Grande. Plus, as Snopes points out, Mexico's national petrol company sells fuel under the same name. Wo...
