I would think the R&A (based in Fife) will still allow it to be played south of the border occasionally....

Re: Do you take supplements?

A few years ago I had a sore knee problem which the NHS examined but had nothing to offer. When I saw glucosamine advertised as good for joints I decided to try it on a nothing to lose basis. After taking it for a few days I realised I was walking to work with no trace of a limp. Having read some an...

Re: Help with ebook please

This blog is a listing for authors of websites where they can promote their free books. Some, but not all, are Kindle specific, you're bound to find something.

Re: Atheist Church in London

I recall seeing an exchange of letters in one of the papers last year in which someone had declared that they attended church through a desire to be part of the community, even though they had no belief in the god. A minister had responded that he couldn’t understand why anyone would do that, which ...

Re: Atheism intelletually bankrupt?

I’m not sure what “intellectually bankrupt” means. I’m guessing it would indicate a lack of inclination to inquire, perhaps to hide from the problems of the world rather than tackle them. It seems to me that the phrase would be better applied to religion. Rather than apply their intellect and take r...

Re: mobile phones

My professional cameras do the same, but still don't draw much power in that state.
In the case of a switched off Kindle I can't imagine there's enough power going through circuits to affect anything substantial outside it.

Re: mobile phones

You can use the kindle during the flight. On mine, the default name for it not being connected to the web is "aeroplane mode" since the last update of the software. You're asked to switch it off completely during take off and landing.

Re: E-books

I should have made that clearer, under LIST, select the genres you want, in your case scence fiction, and then click the 'Apply Selected Genres' link below it.

Currently, it's listing 126 sci-fi books.

Re: E-books

I’ve been using this website recently, which lists all of the Kindle books currently available for £0.00. Most are only free for a day or so as promotions, and I’ve found a few interesting things by independent authors. You can filter in and out results from various categories, and it’s noticeable h...

Re: Is there a funny pics thread?

The Russian Orthodox Church seemingly had editors doctor a photograph, on their site, of the leader Patriarch Kirill I, in attempt to obscure a $30,000 watch that he has claimed to not exist. The amateur shop job extended a black sleeve where there once appeared to be a Breguet timepiece but somehow...
