They also depend on many other lies, eg the virginity of Mary, the circumstances surrounding Jesus' so-called ascendence, etc, etc. Jesus himself of course openly admitted that most of his stories were in fact fictional. The stories of miracles were also probably based on lies and "embellishments"....
