Re: Film criticism and recommendation

Yesterday evening I went to see Paddington 2. It was superb. It was funny, gentle and thoroughly entertaining. Highly recommended.

Re: Can anyone recommend a film for a discussion?

This is not really a recommendation, Manel, because I haven't seen it, but Edinburgh Humanists are discussing it. I guess it's in English, which may be a barrier. Try searching online for The God Delusion or The God Question.

At the moment it is limited to American cities plus Vancouver, Edinburgh and London. It could be useful, however. I'll keep it on the phone for now.

Re: International Mortals Meeting!

That sounds brilliant, Manel. I would love to come but I'm not sure it will happen. My son is getting married in France in July and I'm going back to the USA in September, so I have a bit of travelling ahead of me already this year. There's also a piping weekend in the USA I would like to go to in A...

Re: Hobbies

My children were concerned with the number of volunteering activities I have and told me I should cut it down and make time for myself. I thought about it and decided they were right. I fact I really needed a hobby. So I reclassified the work I do for the community radio station . Instead of being v...

Re: Dignity in Dying

Although different in some campaigning stances and a lot smaller, there is the orgnisation Friends at the End . It's based in Scotland but also has meetings in London. They also have Befriend at the End , which provides advice on end-of-life issues. (Note that I am a member of FATE and run both web...

Re: Dignity in Dying

That's where I had just been, John. There seem to be no groups in this country at all. One in Belfast, one in Cardiff and lots in England. They do have 'campaigning in Scotland' but it seems to be just a list of news items. I'm a bit puzzled. :puzzled:

Dignity in Dying

I just registered to receive newsletters from Dignity in Dying, and then went to register with my local group. There seem to be no groups in Scotland at all. Is this an England only organisation? That's fair enough, but if so, what is the Scottish equivalent? :)

Help and advice, please!

Well, that was a busy day. Shopping Service in the morning, taking Tina home from hospital again, doing my Thursday show and then tea at the Happy Haggis. Now relaxing. May have a drink.

Welcome to TH, Catriona! Collecting things is a hobby, so alligators count.

I can remember questioning this when the Bill came out for consultation. It seemed ridiculous then and it still does.

Re: Talk to Yourself

This is hard going. Reinjecting the former sense of fun into the TH Forum is a worthwhile aim, though. Some of the old threads were really good. The Countdown was a hoot. Moose! Where are you? Zoe! Wheels! Goldie! It's a shame people drop out of the forum and we don't know if they're ok. Life moves ...

And today I played at a Ceilidh for the old folks in the Village Hall. These events are always good and this was no exception.
