Went to Iceland 3 years ago and hired a mini 4WD. A most teriffic place, awesome waterfalls, glaciers and emptiness. Remember well fishing in the harbour at Akreyuri at 1am cos it never went dark (June). Light enough to see to tie hooks on lines. Icelandic prawns as cheap as chips (well not really, ...

De-criminalise all currently illegal drugs ????? 4Fxake
I'm all for the freedom of the individual in matters of choice and self determination, but can you imagine living in a country, town or village where everyone was off their heads, paranoid and suicidal because it had become 'normal'?

I must admit that I agree with TubaTaxi and that I was surprised to see that after casting my vote, I appeared to represent an impressive 25% of the votes cast in that catagory :laughter: But to be serious, if one believes in freedom of speech then how can anyone deny even the likes of David (the ho...

Re: The Germanic attitude to sunbeds

Message for TH and sorry for the afterpost. Hi Ted, I must apologise for anything I said about a persons sense or not of humour. I had not realisd that you had already covered this one thus: I admit I’m humour-challenged on these kind of things – they just come across as self-blinding, justifying ir...

Doesn't it scare anyone that just because we can , make a genetic selection we must go against what any rational mind would want for all humans, ie be born best equipped to live a full life without impedement. I'm only too pleased these options were not avaiable during the Third Reich (apologies to ...

Re: Moral Dilemmas

I think that watning to produce another human being with a sensory defect that if in the earlystages of human evolution would have rendered the individual concerned less likely to survive in its natural environment has to be seen as morally wrong. Of course in todays world the effects of such a hand...

Snoopy always seems to be cool but not always aware of the fact. He makes me laugh, because more than anything else he seems to reflect the rebel that's in all of us and just goes with his feelings: usually he ends up in the doghouse either by choice or direction! Such is my life .... :laughter:

It would appear that if TH is typical of your average Jock (which I seriously doubt), then I could expect thanan entire nation found no humour or irony in the antics of Basil Fawlty proprietor of the infamous yet hilarious Fawlty Towers comedy series. It must have gone right over his head that the f...

This is surely about the death of humour by multicultural decree. I wonder who actually made the complaint, who ever they are this lot make me want to throw up. Their petty whinging and supersensitive feelings , they need a good kicking up the bum. Bring back Bernard Manning or at least run some of ...
