Re: Is organic better?

Shame they don't test for the levels of "organic pesticides " I expect organic pesticides are safe, I mean just cause they are largely uncontrolled and untested whilst being used to kill things!!!! http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~lhom/organictext.html edit to add, good old Derris dust the organics favo...

Re: Is organic better?

Short on time but an example from the link "Multiple comparisons: The authors have carried out a large number of comparisons, only some of which are presented in the main part of the paper. This leads to an increased likelihood of obtaining “false-positives”- in other words, the more differences you...

Re: The ages of man (and woman of course!)

If the "new medication " is not a pain killer then keep in mind analgesia works better if taken regularly, Non steroidal meds may not be a good idea on warfarin but paracetamol is ok for most. Pain equals stress and stress has a negative effect on healing so take pain killers to reduce the pain, inf...

Re: Why did you choose your particular user name?

The first forum I joined a good few years ago was to do with camping in France, which I love. Anaconda was the name of the first tent we owned. Considering what an anaconda is, er, what shape was this 'ere tent then? Well suited to tall people one would expect :pointlaugh: . Back to why a particula...

Re: Homeopathy

I used to be pretty ambivalent about homeopathy, but the rampant bullshit that homeopaths insist on pushing on people has left me decidedly opinionated. At present I am sorely tempted to write a spoof homeopathic paper and see if it gets accepted for publication by one of the Alt Med journals. In f...

Re: Vitamin supplements and diet programmes

Gurdur. If you live in the UK and have been diagnosed with a malabsobtion condition, I am astounded that you have never seen a dietician (and as Alan has said, I'm not talking about so-called nutritionists). A dietician is qualified to advise (and prescribe) food suppliments. GPs are definatly NOT ...
