Dr John Sentamu and psychosomatic spiritual entities

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, in truth I wasn't sure whether it should go in the religion or comedy section! See the link below to the BBC website article. Apparently Dr John thinks the NHS must provide services for 'spiritual health'. He goes on to give an example of when he exorcised a sp...

Re: 'Psychic' found cheating

Just read the 'Psychic Sally' article and some of the reader comments that followed, my favourite being:

"There is a very convincing, obvious and dare I say, conclusive reason why mad sally can't actually speak to dead people.... it's because they're all f*cking dead!!!!" :hilarity:

Re: 'Psychic' found cheating

At the theatre we had a request for hire by a so called psychic I cant remember what he actualy wanted to do but semed to think that we wouldn't charge him mutch and was upset a bit when we told him what the charge would be. He was a member of the K.G.B that is the Kernow(cornish for cornwall) Ghos...

Re: High frequency trading

"in fact in some countries democracy is beginning to look like the system by which electorates decide which politician gets to implement what the markets dictate." That's really not far from the truth in this country as far as I am concerned. It's frequently one of the most annoying things on the UK...

Re: So long and thanks for all the fish.

Not been on for ages (M.E not good) but followed a link from the BBC news site earlier on, to the American Atheists site and found this one. Just choose a year to see the other doomsday prophecies that didn't happen. I guess Camping can be added to the list ...again! He's probably a bit richer than ...

Re: Modern economics

Oh, there's a surprise! Apparently anyone who doesn't agree with your 'scientific' economic theories is wrong. I suppose I just think the same about the right wing nonsense (more like economic woo-woo rather than science) you spout, though. But then I don't live in your theoretical world that happen...

Having awoken from a brief hibernation, I just spent about an hour typing a reply, pressed preview then it asked me to sign in again and what I'd typed had gone. FFS! I'll do it again at the weekend but for now the links requested are: Richards site is TaxResearch (my bad previously, it was way past...

Ha Ha, thought I'd get a response from you Nick! I reckon you should post under an alter ego of Ol' Nick when it comes to politics and economics :laughter: (couldn't find a devil smiley, which would have been more appropriate) I didn't say it was easy (probably should have said that in my original p...

Re: Grounds for being a Humanist

redsquirrel Very few people here think the above, given humanists don't even think your god exists! Or that Jesus did (at least in my case) Carmen, can you point me to one piece of historical evidence for the Jesus guy? Not anecdotes or hearsay but actual historical evidence. You know, something re...

If he's anything like my two cats were (RIP Jesper and Trixie), the only thing that phased them was an empty food bowl! Oh and Jesper tryin hard not to look daft as he tried to walk along the top of the fence (he was a manx with a little stubby tail so his balance was crap - for a cat at least. Mind...

Re: Modern economics

I too thought that article was bang on, its a pity more influential people can't be more honest. Trouble is most of those with influence have their nose well and truly in the trough, and/or they can only see the world through their rose tinted (or should that be solid gold rimmed?) right wing capita...

Re: Happy Xmas ?

Eric Pickles is, to be frank IMO, a complete and utter loudmouth tory gobs**te who appears to have spent most of the time since the election getting his name in the papers and having a pop at anyone and anything that he doesn't agree with or like (which seems to be quite a lot). I'd like to say that...

Re: God, Science and the New Atheism

I don't think there is anything other than the resurrection of Jesus Christ which can explain the early expansion of Christianity. What do you mean by 'the early expansion'? Do you mean the spread of a cult that spread around in a fairly minor way for a few hundred years like many others at the tim...
