Re: Brexit News For Brexiteers, please see the link

Theresa May to urge MPs to give her more time to seek Brexit concessions/quote]What concessions? Unless May moves her red lines, the EU has concluded negotiations and has agreed a deal with the UK. And if she moves any of her red lines, she faces a huge Tory backlash. the Brextremists seem to rely ...

Re: Brexit News For Brexiteers, please see the link

Alan, maybe you can help me over this. If the May deal involves a backstop which involves remaining in a Customs Union with the EU for an indefinite time, AND if this is anathema to all the Labour MPs who voted against the deal, AND YET if Labour wants a permanent Customs Union, whatever is the diff...

Re: Brexit News For Brexiteers, please see the link

I take your point that May's deal may well be less worse than no deal - and I suspect she's hoping others will see that as well - but it's still a dereliction of duty by MPs. It is simply the lesser of two self-imposed harms. Some MPs have it in their tiny little minds that the advisory referendum ...

Re: Brexit News For Brexiteers, please see the link

Brexiters are finally being forced to face reality For at least three years – and in some cases much longer – Brexiters have peddled fantasies, half-truths and outright lies about what Brexit would mean and how it could be done. Ever since the 2016 referendum more and more of these have been expose...

Re: Brexit News For Brexiteers, please see the link

I think that Parliament will eventually accept the May deal, whatever its faults, since what is the alternative? I think they need to realise that would be a dereliction of their duty to their constituents. However, it was resoundingly defeated and many MPs knows it will be a disaster, so it's diff...

Re: Brexit News For Brexiteers, please see the link

So where to now? The EU have finished negotiations and have agreed a deal with the UK government and have said that's the best deal available. Parliament rejects that deal. No one other than a few right-wing extremists want a no-deal Brexit. Labour wants a 'jobs-first' Brexit that's made of the sam...

About that video, coffee... I think you are flogging a dead horse, Alan. Coffee, you could at least have the courtesy to respond to Alan and to watch things like the video which do not just let you stay in in your comfort zone by confirming the stuff you would like to believe is true. Such as: the ...

Re: In or out?

As I said to my MP, the execrable Barry Gardiner, a People's Vote is not a re-run of the referendum, but a vote on what has been negotiated. Here's my full response to a dreadful previous reply from him: Barry Thank you for your email. I have no doubt that a plethora of PhDs will in future years be...

some disconnected thoughts on Brexit 1 The May deal is not good - apparently.
